Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Alfa collects, uses and protects personal information when you use Alfa's website, applications, AI employees, support channels and related services.
Who is responsible
Alfa is responsible for personal information we process for account administration, product operation, security, support and business communications. If an organisation provides you with access to Alfa, that organisation may also be responsible for information it controls in its workspace.
Information Alfa collects
- Account information, including name, email address, authentication details and workspace membership.
- Customer content, including prompts, uploaded files, instructions, generated outputs, saved work and workspace history.
- Usage and device information, including browser type, device type, pages viewed, feature usage, IP address, approximate location, logs and diagnostics.
- Communications, including support requests, feedback and other messages you send to Alfa.
How Alfa uses information
- To provide, operate, maintain and secure Alfa.
- To generate AI outputs, save workspace history and deliver the features you request.
- To authenticate users, administer accounts and support workspaces.
- To detect, prevent and investigate abuse, security incidents and technical issues.
- To respond to support requests, send service communications and manage the customer relationship.
- To understand aggregate product usage and improve Alfa, subject to applicable law and customer agreements.
Legal bases
Where UK or European data protection law applies, Alfa relies on the legal bases that fit the relevant processing activity, including performance of a contract, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations and consent where required.
AI and service providers
Alfa uses service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, support, analytics, security and AI generation. Customer content may be sent to AI providers and infrastructure providers as needed to run the feature you request. Alfa does not sell personal information.
Customer content and model training
Alfa uses customer content to provide and improve the service, troubleshoot issues and maintain safety and security. Where available, Alfa configures AI providers to process customer content for service delivery rather than for their independent model training, unless a customer chooses a feature, setting or provider that states otherwise.
International transfers
Alfa and its providers may process information in countries other than the country where you are located. Where required, Alfa uses appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
Retention
Alfa keeps personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and protect the service. Workspace content is retained according to account settings, customer instructions and applicable agreements.
Your choices
- You can choose what content you submit to Alfa.
- You can delete browser-local data by clearing site data in your browser.
- You can contact Alfa to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent where those rights apply.
- If your access is provided by an organisation, some requests may need to be handled by that organisation.
Security
Alfa uses reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure.
Regulated and sensitive information
Alfa is not intended to store medical records, payment card numbers, government identifiers, biometric identifiers, children's data or other highly regulated information unless a written agreement with Alfa expressly permits that use.
Children
Alfa is not directed to children and should not be used by anyone under 16 unless a customer agreement says otherwise and all required consents are in place.
Changes to this policy
Alfa may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, Alfa will take reasonable steps to notify users or customers before the changes take effect.
